Drive-in Movie Event 

South Drive In Theater



Thursday October 8th, 7:00pm


 
We have made arrangements to once again rent out the South Drive in Theater for a weeknight movie night. This will also be for a combined event with the Scioto Longhouses, but as many of you know there's plenty of room for all of us at this venue. This is a family friendly event, so please feel free to bring the whole household to the theater.

The days are getting shorter, which means the movie can start earlier and, more importantly, end earlier. Sunset is at ~7:30 that night, so we should be able to get the movie started soon thereafter. Bring dinner in with you and have dinner under the stars while watching a movie with your family. Each family will get a large bag of popcorn from the concession stand for free as part of the event. We are excited to return to Camp Kern!

 

Camp Kern encompasses more than 485 acres of beautiful woodland, pasture land, trails, program space and around 80 buildings near the Little Miami River.  It is owned and operated by the YMCA of Greater Dayton and is developed exclusively for camp use.

 

Camp Kern is located between Cincinnati and Columbus on I-71 near Lebanon, OH.  It is just north of King’s Island and just south of the large bridge over the Little Miami River.

The cabins will be available to use, and of course you are always welcome to camp in a tent. Meals will be provided by Camp Kern. 

 

Directions from UA:

  • Take 315 South to I-71 South to Exit 32. Turn Left off of exit.
  • Make first left onto St. Rt. 350
    • (Landmarks: BP station, Clark Station and the famous Country Kitchen)
  • Camp Kern entrance is 2 ½ miles on the right.
    • (Do not go down the large hill and cross the river, if you do you went too far!)

 

Approx. travel time from UA is 1hr 15 mins.

Camp Activities Include:

  • Twin Zip Line
  • Giant Swing
  • BB Guns
  • Archery
  • Canoeing
  • Hiking
  • Fishing (bring your own poles)
  • Tower pumpkin toss
  • Tribal Ceremony and Campfire

 

Your registration fee covers:

  • Access to the campground for tent camping
  • All activity costs (except for horse rides, this will be a separate Club Express event)
  • T-shirts for you and your daughters
  • Firewood
  • Pumpkin carving equipment (bring your own pumpkins)
  • Crafting supplies
  • Basically all incremental costs associated with the campout. We operate campouts as break-even events

Registration

The Indian Princesses has a long history of bringing fathers and daughters together for life enriching experiences. This history dates back to 1926, and the Olentangy Longhouse dates back to 1960. We are the oldest and largest group in Upper Arlington.

Trail Mates are 6th through 8th grade
